Really Rudolph?

Every time I hear the song “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” I think about Rudolph’s life choices.

The other reindeer didn’t like him. They went out of their way to laugh at him and call him names.

Then, Santa comes along and sees the special reindeer that Rudolph is and how awesome he is.

Now and only now, do all of the other reindeer want to be his friend. Story goes, that one of the other reindeer is Rudolph’s father, so even his father shunned his own son until Santa said Rudolph is special.

Two things here. You don’t need for Santa or anyone to come along and tell you that you’re special. Believe in yourself and already know that you’re special because you are! If they weren’t your friends during the dark days, they will not be true friends when you’re in the light.

So, Rudolph, you were better off without the other reindeer. Believe in yourself! Believe in yourself before Santa or anyone else comes along and even if your own parent(s) don’t believe in you. Find friends that are there for you and love you no matter what. These will be the friends worth having and holding on to for all times.
