I’m asking to understand God’s ultimate authority and omniscience along with man’s free will.
Free will (along with love) was the ultimate gift that God gave because God wanted a relationship and not robots. Free will stems from love.
I questioned how if God is in ultimate power, why do certain things happen. I personally have come to believe that it’s man (with this free will), gets in the way. Out of everything that God does, one thing God can not do is take away a person’s freedom of choice because God already gave this when God created humanity and can not go against it. I think God being omniscient already knows what man is going to do, and always has an ultimate plan—a work around per say.
For example, Moses went to pharaoh several times asking to let his people go. It says God hardened pharaoh’s heart, but his heart was already hardened with pride. So God had a work around and still let the captives free. In the end, this showed greater glory and God was able to show miracles and others had a chance to believe. It’s ultimately about God’s plan and glory.
I had a personal example of this. I was sure I was supposed to purchase a specific condo. Everything was going smoothly til the very end. There was something about the location that put a halt to the deal. I did everything in my power to push it through. Man got in the way, but God new best and had a better plan. The condo we needed up in was better than what we had originally imagined. Some would ask, why didn’t God just take us to the condo that we ended up in? But then we would have missed out on God having a chance to show God’s glory, having the experience, the adventure, and isn’t that what life is about?
