Wholeness and the Missing Piece—Just a Touch

I think there is a period of life where we recognize that we are not whole and God is healing us, working in our lives, and putting us back together after being in a world that has broken us.

There is also a point where we have to see and be thankful for the artwork that God has worked on and realize that the masterpiece is complete and is now whole after much love, precision, detail, and having the finishing touches applied.

By faith we are made whole.

However, this beautiful piece of work still resides in a fallen world and cracks daily. This is where minor touch-ups are constantly being made. The pottery does not need to be remade from scratch each day; it just needs a touch of the master’s hand.

I ask forgiveness daily for the crack that I’ve made in your precious pottery that you’ve taken so much time and consideration in making. I’m thankful that you’re quick to forgive me for my carelessness with such a work of art and that you’re able to renew the broken part of it daily—wherever the broken piece may be found.
