This is what it’s suppose to be like: balance, open heart, centered, focused, non-controlling, just living like a kid, letting go and letting God. It’s like a butterfly that has sprouted wings. Like a new born baby with so many things and so many new worlds to explore. The only difference, life is better because as a grown baby, there is knowledge and wisdom of what to stay away from; what burns if your hand touches something that it shouldn’t.
I’m excited because I’ve found several things to be excited about. Life is good right now: I’m finishing my masters this summer, I have a wonderful boyfriend, I have a calendar full of things that I’m interested in including: ice skating, acting, writing, dancing, reading, and singing soon. Time for God is there and time for the important things that matter.
With an open heart, I want to do better. I want to contact my nieces. I want to be a better brother and a better friend. I can be a better boyfriend.
The secret is an open heart and mind. That doesn’t mean open to anything. That means listening; listening to a heart that feels the Spirit, that feels life, that knows what doubt feels like, that knows what fear feels like, that knows what lust feels like, to know what evil feels like, to know what peace feels like, to be in touch with what it is exactly that is being felt and listening.
The Bible says, “My children will hear my voice and they will know me.” We will know what is right, what direction to go in, and where not to go because we are able to listen to our Savior because we know his voice in our heart. It’s that soft whisper that doesn’t go away and is always there. That gentleman that is always whispering peace. Whether we listen or not, that’s were free will takes place.
One response to “Open Heart”
Madonna says in one of her songs: “I think I’ll follow my heart. It’s a very good place to start.”
I think when you decide to follow your heart you start to realize what is right for you, and sometimes what is wtong as well.
